ROBERT PETERSON

Robert C. Peterson is the president and founder of New England Theatre Service, Inc. (NETS) located in Beacon Falls, CT. Bob’s electronics background was developed early on in life when he obtained a FCC general class radio license. While attending the University of Massachusetts, Amherst Bob worked as a union projectionist in one of the local Amherst movie theatres. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree and serving a four-year commitment with the US Air Force, Bob took a position with the RCA Service Company based out of Jersey City, NJ. His responsibilities included installation and service of projection and sound equipment throughout the Northeast. Bob later went on to work for the Translux Corporation out of Norwalk, CT, where he served as the Director of Technical Services.

In July of 1983, Bob started NETS which specialized in the repair and overhaul of 35mm projection equipment and provided component level repair of all electronic equipment associated with the movie industry. Most recently, NETS has transitioned its business model to align with the changing trends in the industry by becoming a full-service D-Cinema dealer.

NETS has had the pleasure of working with all of the major theatre circuits both past and present: Loews, Regal, AMC, National Amusements, GCC and Bow Tie, among others. Some of NETS’ more notable installations include the opening of 48 screens for Loews theatres in the same night: 25 screens located in Cherry Hill, NJ and 23 screens at the Liberty Tree Mall in Boston.  NETS was also responsible for the design and installation of the presidential screening room at Camp David. NETS previously maintained Paul Newman’s personal screening room and currently maintains Barry Diller’s personal screening room.
